There are certain abnormalities in physiological aspects of ornamentals which are not associated with any diseases or insect pests.

They are brought about by unsuitable environmental conditions, nutrition, improper stage of harvesting etc. Sometimes more than one factor may be responsible for the cause and hence it is called as 'Syndrome'.
